Major County Historical Society Hosting 40th Annual Threshing Bee This Weekend

Hundreds are expected to make the pilgrimage to Fairview Sept. 26-27 for the 40th Annual Threshing Bee and Tractor Show at the Major County Historical Society on the east side of Fairview.

Organizers encourage citizens to attend and experience first hand, “The most memorable period in farming history.”

Featured tractors for 2025 will be the John Deere B and Caterpillar. Raffle tractor for 2025 will be a 1950 Farmall Cub Demonstrator, with the drawing to be held at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

While at the Threshing Bee, experience antique tractors, steam engines, cars and trucks, threshing, saw milling, plowing, tractor pulls, anvil shoot, hay baling, and blacksmithing.

Kids land run, daily parade and tractor drive into town. Corn shelling, grain milling and stationary gas engines.

Sept. 26, will be school day for the kids, with food trucks, craft vendors and swap meet also being held.

Be sure to tour the museum, railroad depot, veteran’s memorial, pioneer school, hotel, church and blacksmith shop with the Saltfork Craftsman.

Admission for the event is free to the public.

There will also be a quilt show on display inside Sand Creek Heritage Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday. A wide array of quilts will be on display, that range from antiques to modern day.
