Ground breaking held for Sugar Momma’s

A ground breaking ceremony was held July 30, for the latest business venture set to open in Fairview, Sugar Momma’s, which will be located at 125 West Broadway (just west of the Post Office).

Owners Robert and Julie Laverty have had the vision for the business for  a couple years, with all the pieces just recently falling into place to make the dream a reality.

Sugar Momma’s, a name that pays homage to Julie and her mother, Jewel Wedel (who is featured in the logo), began dirt work earlier this week and hopes to be open by mid-November.

Sugar Momma’s will be baking hot fresh donuts daily, and will be serving refreshing beverages.

The store will be 30’x 50’ and will feature a drive thru and dine-in options.

The Lavertys said the business plans to hire 6-8 employees and is expected to be open six days a week, but official details will be released closer to opening day.

Local builder Chris Miller and his crew have been tasked with the construction of the building.
